Connecting to GitHub is necessary for VibeScale to scan the source code, dependencies, and check for exposed secrets in the repository. Without this connection, security analyses cannot be performed.
1

Start the connection

In the app creation wizard, click Connect GitHub. You will be redirected to GitHub’s authorization screen.
2

Authorize VibeScale

On the GitHub screen, review the requested permissions and click Authorize. VibeScale only requests read permissions — no write access is made to your repository.
3

Select the repository

After returning to the platform, use the dropdown to find and select the correct repository. You can type to filter the list if you have many repositories.
4

Confirm the installation

The platform verifies that repository access is active. Once confirmed, the app proceeds to the URL validation step, then to the dashboard.
You can update the connected repository anytime directly from the app dashboard, without needing to recreate the app from scratch.
VibeScale now includes an additional check when reconnecting a repository to ensure it is the same codebase originally analyzed. If you try to connect a different repository, an alert will block the action, offering options to cancel or create a new app for the different repository.
